About Our Partner
Womankind is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) – including domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual violence by providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed services to help them on their path to healing.
Founded nearly 45 years ago as the New York Asian Women’s Center, Womankind embraces the multidimensionality of its Asian heritage while serving individuals of all background and across the lifespan. Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc. has been a long time supporter of Womankind.

Winter Coat Drive & Fundraising
The Campaign
In preparation for the NYC winter season, Womankind annually collects and distributes warm coats, hats, gloves, and other winter essentials to survivors of GBV and their families. The Winter Wear & Coat Drive serves to provide families and survivors experiencing financial hardships with essential winter gear. This year, consider donating to this cause to achieve our goal in collecting 50 new women’s winter coats in sizes Medium and Large. We are unable to accept any used or gentle worn coats.
How You Can Support
On December 13, we are hosting a coat drive and fundraising event at Paris Cafe in South Street Seaport and we would like to invite you and your family & friends to join us in a social gathering with foods and music. Each adult who RSVP will be required to make a minimum $50 donation towards one of the giving level options. If you bring a minor to the event, please help your minor select one small donation option at the event (this giving option is available after adult options are selected).
- Come grab a small bite on us (Passed Hors d’oeuvres are available as a thank-you for your donations).
- Please note that non-alcoholic / alcoholic drinks are available for purchase individually at the bar.
- Juice boxes are provided for the little ones.

All giving levels are charitable contributions made to Sigma Psi Zeta Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and are designated for Womankind in support of the Coat Drive.
